A quick 1.5 hr beautiful drive close to the Twin Cities and there you have it the 'up north feel'. Balsam Lake is a premier lake that has plenty to offer. Also at the beach is a swing set, picnic shelter, charcoal BBQ grill, fishing dock and boat launch. It is a quiet beach - lots of room to spread out and de-stress. The oversized butcher block island is surrounded by a large amount of additional countertops, more than enough for even the most ambitious chef! Custom log bar stools, custom log and mason jar light fixtures, and so much more make this an amazing space. Dining Room: The Dining Room is surrounded by two sets of 7-foot sliding glass doors, so even when dining at the table you still feel like you are outside enjoying the views. The log kitchen table can easily fit 6-8 people. Living Room: The Living Room is anchored with a large sectional and recliner chair and offers a 50”+ flat screen TV mounted in the corner so it is able to be seen from anywhere in the open floorplan area. The TV has a Bluray/DVD player with a large selection of DVDs (many children's). Main Floor Bathroom: The main floor bathroom is custom finished with knotty pine wainscoting, a full bathroom with a shower and bath. Master Bedroom: The crown jewel of the bedrooms! This bedroom features a King bed, a 46” TV, gorgeous custom log furniture, and a sliding glass door which allows you the ultimate views from bed! Drink a cup of morning coffee right from bed and enter onto your private section of the enormous deck with views of the quiet serene lake. Bedroom #2: The second bedroom also features custom log furniture, a full bed, and 2 additional twin beds. HUGE wrap around Deck: Our deck is a masterpiece of its own! The deck spans 2 entire sides of the 28’ x 40’ cabin. Whether your needs are outdoor dining, socializing with friends, or quiet lounging space…. Cabin on Blake can accommodate you! It also features our gas and charcoal grill. Lower Walk-out Level: Family room: Oversized Family Room includes a sectional couch, large 50” TV with smart Bluray/DVD player, extra kitchen table for playing games or extra dining space, and an almost full 2nd kitchen. The large windows in this space provide an amazing view of the lake and full walk-out basement to the shore! 2nd Kitchen/Kitchenette: This space is located in the open concept family room. It is complete with a full-sized refrigerator and freezer, sink, many cabinets and a large counter space. This space is perfect for a bar area, extra prep station for meals, or meal prep for outside meals down by the lake. 3rd Bedroom: Huge lower level bedroom features the following beds -1 queen, 1 full, and 2 twin beds. We also have a twin trundle bed if requested. Lower Bathroom: The lower level bathroom is generous in size and hosts a ¾ bathroom set up, with a shower available. Laundry Facilities: We do offer washer and dryer facilities at our home. We have a free dryer for convenience of drying wet clothing from the lake. The washing machine is coin operated. This is a one bedroom home, so we have made the most of the space by offering 2 bunk beds in the bedroom and the option for blow up mattresses in the bedroom and living room to house more people. The lake side chalet home is located on Big Round's western shore on a very private lot. We are the last place on a private dead end road so our closest neighbor to the south is barely visible and the neighbor to the north is 700 ft away. The Lodge was constructed by Charles Calder between 1918 and 1922. During these five years of construction, Calder used natural stone and lumber from the surrounding Bone Lake region to build the lodge. Calder grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he owned a successful van and storage business. Many of the profits from the van and storage business were reinvested into land along Bone Lake. By 1891, Calder acquired a total of 720 acres on the shore of Bone Lake. At the time, the land had an estimated value of $22,000. Throughout the Roaring Twenties and up until the Great Depression, the lodge consisted of 14 rooms and 7 additional cabins. The wealthy came from all parts of the Midwest –Chicago, Milwaukee, Iowa, and the Twin Cities–to stay at the famous lodge. Guests arrived in Luck by train, where they were then chauffeured to the lodge. The lodge provided the wealthy guests with expensive dinners, reaching prices as high as $6 a plate (or $98 in 2018 dollars). Furthermore, the water in the springs contained high levels of lithium, which had high medicinal value during the 1920’s. Consequently, many customers arrived with large containers so that they could bring the water home with them. Although the prohibition began in 1920, strong evidence suggests that the lodge continued to serve alcohol. The alcohol was hidden across the lake in concrete storage vaults. Boats transported the alcohol across the lake. The lodge’s fabulous reputation caused the world’s most notorious gang members to visit it. In the late 1920’s, Al Capone frequently stayed at the lodge with different friends. John Dillinger and his gang also stayed at the lodge in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. Dillinger’s gang would park their convoy of Ford Model T’s near the lake on a dirt road that now forms 240th Avenue. Additionally, gang leader Ma Barker and criminal Alvin Karpis were also known to have stopped in the lodge during their trips to Fremsted Lake in Webster, Wisconsin. Boat to the restaurant on the lake and easy access the marina. Bring your snowmobiles or ATVs as well and have some fun taking in the beauty of the WI trails. The Gandy Dancer Trail runs right through Luck and there is a snowmobile trail right in front of the cabin. The cabin is easy to access and has ample parking space. Enjoy this one level cabin that features a deck overlooking the lake with amazing sunsets. We have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Two bedrooms comfortably sleep 7. One bedroom has a king sized bed. The other has a queen bed and a twin over full bunk bed. Fully licensed and permitted as a vacation rental property through Polk County.

This property is a great place to connect with yourself, family and/or friends. Located on the east side of Big Round Lake, making for the best location for picturesque sunsets night after night. Great fishing for all ages. Great lake for families 3 bedrooms (2 w/queen beds, 1 w/ 2 single beds) Futon and single bed in the living space downstairs and a pull out couch upstairs. Fully functional kitchen and clothes washer and dryer. My favorite place is the porch(lake side) for drinking coffee and watching the bald eagles or for a glass of wine watching the most beautiful sunsets. A 4 season split level home. Very clean with no pets. Just feet from the lake. Great summer boating, floating and swimming. Winter ice fishing and snow shoeing. Location is close to snowmobile trail and many hiking trails. We love the town of Luck! Only a 10 minute drive. Our house is thoroughly cleaned and surfaces are disinfected. We are also removing those "extra touches" from the house to minimize items that are handled or need to be sanitized. ( comforters on the bed, no throw pillows or blankets on the couches, fewer books and games out etc.) Whenever possible, we are scheduling rental check ins 24 hours after the last departure to provide extra time to accomplish this. River Haven has a large yard, fire pit, and dock space for your boat. Paddle boat, kayaks and canoe are provided for your summer fun. Everyone will enjoy the wide variety of activities, from fishing, floating, boating, relaxing by the fire, or grilling out. Big Round Lake is over 1000 acres and is second to none for fishing in Northwest Wisconsin. It is also perfect for all water sports. The cabin was completely remodeled in 2010 and is very clean and comfortable. All new appliances are furnished in the kitchen, as well as central air and forced air furnace for your comfort all year long. We have also placed coin operated laundry facilities in the tiled entry way. All bedding and towels are provided for you. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and pots and pans, and there is a gas or charcoal grill provided. Bring your own propane and/or charcoal. This cabin will sleep 6 people comfortably. No pets and no smoking. On the main level you enter the cabin through the knotty pine entry way with tiled floors. From there is the spacious kitchen with dinner table. There is a nice bathroom with a shower stall. Sorry no bathtub. Just off the kitchen is the living room with cable TV, brand new 40 inch LED flat screen TV, and DVD player. Attached to the living room is the 4 season sun porch with knotty pine walls, a 14' flat screen TV, a hide a bed sofa for extra sleeping space, and a door that walks out to the lake. Wireless internet is included as well. On the upper level you will find on large bedroom furnished with 2 queen beds, a dresser, and a 32' flat screen TV. It has one window facing the lake, and two other windows which give you a wonderful cross breeze. The second bedroom has a queen bed, 12' flat screen TV, a dresser, and a 1/2 bathroom with a toilet and a sink. Both bedrooms are furnished with a box fan, and have a small closet if you wish to hang up your clothing. Outside you will enjoy the large well maintained one acre yard. There is a wooden swing, picnic table and a beautiful fire pit patio on top of the hill facing the lake. This gives you an amazing view of the sunset while having a bonfire. Firewood is included. A private dock is provided for your personal boat, pontoon, or other water craft that you are welcome to bring. We have a paddle boat, canoe and 2 kayaks available to you. One of our favorite things to do is take the canoe or kayak up the Straight River that comes into the lake on the Northwest end of the lake. We have just purchase 2 Hydro-bikes which are available for an additional fee. You can't beat the deal on this cozy vacation cabin. Don't wait to book your perfect north woods vacation.
